Our Troubled Teen

Since we moved here we've gotten about 8 phone calls from a local middle school claiming that we have a daughter that goes there. Considering the fact that I'm 27 years old, the math on that really doesn't work out. Usually it's a recording telling us that our daughter was absent that day. Yesterday though it was a real person who left a message on our answering machine. It was our daugther's math teacher who said that she was causing problems for the substitute teacher, but I was glad to hear that "she redirected herself and finished her work." Which to me is terminology that someone would use when they're talking about a 3 year old, not a 12-14 year old. Anyway, I finally called the school yesterday and let them know that we don't have a teenage daughter. The secretary that I spoke with said that she would investigate and try to solve the problem. I just hope this isn't a foretelling of things to come in the future for our baby girl.

Actually, nowadays you actually could have a 12 year old. Sad, but true. Hopefully they solve there problem and you don't get any more calls.

Actually, Kirra filled out her own forms this year, and I'm finding out she used your number for our phone number. She signs all of her own absent slips, and her off grounds pass. She's turning into such a little devil. I'm so kidding. She got a 4.14 on her report card, and that's with 2 B's. One is already an A, so currently it's a 4.28. Let's hope she doesn't go boy crazy. It's all over once that happens.

I think this is a foretelling of a parent who didn't want to give out their real phone number for their screwed up kid. That message the math teacher left cracks me up. Are you sure you didn't have a child when you were 12? It seems like if you did, that was something I would have remembered.
