Purse Curse

I don't know if I can fully express to any of the readers of this blog how much I truly love rhyming words. They are one of my very favorite things in life! That is not really the point of this post though. For Mother's Day I really wanted to get a new purse. I am not a girl that's all into those fancy Coach or Prada bags. In fact, I don't think I've ever paid more than $50 for any bag I've ever owned. I have never understood the point in it, considering that whatever bag you buy will only go out of style within about a year or two. The point being Ryan and I went to Kohl's today so I could find a nice, inexpensive purse for Mother's Day and he would buy it for me. I was so annoyed to go there and find so, so many bags and not be able to find one that I actually liked. Apparently bags with really short straps are in right now, which I totally despise! I think they look cute and all, but I don't want to carry something that has straps so short that it won't stay on my shoulder. I also don't want a bag that is right underneath my armpit. I just want a cute bag, that doesn't look old-ladyish, with long enough straps that they would stay on my shoulders and something that is fairly inexpensive. Too much to ask? I think not!

I was looking for a purse with short handles (for carrying) and a long handle (for the purpose of slinging it on my shoulder). I've decided that no such purses exist anymore. FAR too practical! I don't care about stylish! Just give me something that is useful for cryin' in the mud! So yah, I know exactly what you mean.

I get it too. I've been looking for the perfect purse for years. Still haven't found it. the last time I bought a purse form Kohl's I thought I was getting something cute and sorta different and trendy. Erik told me it looked like something his grandma would have. I'm not a good shopper.

Holy cow! I totally agree. What is up with the armpit bag?! Plus, once you have kiddos you almost need a backpack because you need free arms and hands to handle them...not some purse that looked cute on the shelf, but just ends up being an added pain.
