New Developments

Addy has had two new developments lately. The first one I enjoy, the second one not so much. The first thing is, she has started kind of bouncing when we sit her up. It almost looks like she's trying to dance, which is quite precious to me. She just started doing this the past day or two. The second thing that she's started doing is saying "mama". Of course most mother's would love this and be so excited that their child's first word was "mama". The problem is that Addy never says it in her normal, cheerful voice. It's always said in a sad, crying voice. She repeats, "ma, ma ma..." over and over again in a fussy sort of way, until something is done to make her happy. It makes me feel very guilty that she's crying while saying what she may or may not know is my name. As if I've already scarred her for life, for reasons unknown. I put some pictures in from our Father's Day celebration. The highlight of the day for Addy was eating wrapping paper and curling ribbon, for Ryan the highlight was eating ribs and for me it was the fact that the twice baked potatoes I made actually turned out!

This was our Father's Day feast. Ribs, (I can't take any credit, because I didn't make them nor did I eat them) twice baked potato, salad, and homemade cherry limeades (our favorite drink ever!)

What a cutie! I love her fat little hand near Ryan's shirt. Sounds like the Father's Day celebration was fun for all. Ryan's loking super skinny. Are he and John still doing that "speedo/thong" competition?

Take it as a compliment, she knows you are always there to make her feel better. Is there anyone else you wanted and sometimes still then your Mama?:) She is just such a doll!

You did not eat those ribs? Are you a vegetarian? They look delicious. Do tell.

She has such a happy, confident expression. Hope to see her soon!

I wouldn't eat the ribs either, but go twice baked potatoes!

Addy is a great mix of the two of you.

How do you make your cherry limeades? Do you add some flavoring to regular limeade?

To answer your questions:
Juli, I don't know if John and Ryan are still doing the competition or not. They did it last time we were there.
Angie, no I'm not a vegetarian. I'm just not a huge meat eater, I like ground beef and chicken and that's about it. Andrea, I guess they're not exactly homemade cause we just use 7-up and grenadine and usually put lime slices in there. Although it probably would be better tasting with real limemade and grenadine. We'll have to try that out!

Addy is soooo cute. It's going to be fun to hear her talk and see what she has to say. At least with the Mamamamamama....you know she wants you...and you can be the one to comfort her.
We're having ribs tonight, I eat one and then remember what I'm eating and I can't eat more...it's the nice way to eat meat.

Glad the twice baked potatoes (or potatos? I can never remember!) turned out.

I must be really hungry right now because that looks good and I want to eat it. Fun Father's Day meal. That's cool that Ryan got to have his favorite things.

And Addy is seriously so cute. I miss her so much! I love it when babies start eating random things like wrapping paper.
