One of my favorite things is finding and trying out new recipes. It's not so easy for me to find recipes that I like, seeing as how I'm what some might call a really particular eater (AKA way too picky!) One thing that I'm not picky about is treats. I'm always finding all kinds of great dessert recipes on people's blogs and trying them out.
I thought I'd share some good recipes that I've tried out in the past while. I wish I had pictures to show you, because that would make it more interesting. Alas, I do not. Nevertheless and notwithstanding, here are some good recipes that I've tried. I'll start out with the best brownies I've ever eaten. For this recipe, click here. I've tried out a few of the recipes from the Picky Palate site and have never been disappointed! I left the melted peanut butter and chocolate chips off the top and they were still seriously the best brownies I've ever had!
Another good dessert recipe I've tried are apple dumplings. They have Mountain Dew over the top, which sounds very weird but it was actually really good. I know the Pioneer Woman has a recipe on her blog, but I used this one. They really were easy and amazing!
I tried 2 other recipes from Our Best Bites that were really good. This one for chicken taquitos
and their rosemary focaccia bread. I am not a skilled bread maker by any means, but this bread was pretty easy to make. Also, it was very good toasted under the broiler with olive oil on it.
One last thing that I made recently that turned out to be really good was some lasagna from the Betty Crocker cookbook. The only way I've ever made lasagna was in the crock pot, so I wanted to try making it the traditional way. This recipe dirtied a lot of dishes, but was easy to follow and turned out really well. If you have that cookbook, give that recipe a try.
If you're looking for a good meatball recipe, this one from Alton Brown is awesome! You bake the meatballs in muffin tins, which I think is such a clever idea. Not to mention, they have spinach in them which makes them more healthy. I usually just use ground beef and no pork or lamb and they turn out great!
One last thing that I want to try out sometime very soon, are these little babies on Our Best Bites. My friend Kiersten makes a similar recipe, only with Hershey's Kisses instead of Rolos. I would love the Rolos, because I'm a total caramel freak! They are also very easy and don't require many ingredients at all.
Happy cooking/baking everybody!

The Rolo pretzels look delicious and easy--something Ana might enjoy helping me with. Thanks for passing along that recipe.
What did you think about the SYTYCD finale? Not what I expected!
Mom, I was planning on making the rolo things when I come home. Don't they sound so good! Surprisingly I haven't watched the finale yet, so I'm glad you didn't tell me who the winner was!
I want to make the pretzel things....yum yum yum!
