This past Friday Ryan didn't have classes, meetings, or anything else, so we decided to take a trip to the beach. We went to La Jolla Shores, which is only about 30 minutes away from us. It's so exciting to have a beach that close to our house! We took a picnic and just hung out. The water was of course freezing cold! Ryan got in all the way, but me being the chicken that I am got in only about up to my knees. We did take pictures of ourselves, but neither of us were too happy with the result, so I will be posting pictures of other fun beach stuff. The weather was beautiful and it was a perfect day for the beach!
I thought these little boys running around were so cute, that I just had to get a picture! They reminded me of your boys, Kristen. (except 2 less, of course!)
There was a huge group of adults that came to the beach and had a competition to see who could make the best sand creation. I think this one ended up being the winner.
I thought this picture really showcased my artistic talent!

Looks like fun times! I love that you showcased your own artistic abilities. I thought of you last night as I watched the Food Network Challenge. It was a pie challenge and it was sooo entertaining. Did you happen to see it? Did you remember to call Dad for his b-day?
Why didn't you post the pictures of yourselves--big chickens! I'm so envious you get to go to the beach in La Jolla.

The beach is bliss. Fun that it is so close!!! It appears that after being a school teacher, you learned to write a total of two letters (in the sand no less). That is impressive!
