My Ace of Cakes

Chef Ryan prepping the fruit for the cake.

This morning I went out to breakfast with my visiting teaching group. When I got home I found a note on the kitchen counter that said this:

As I have mentioned in a previous post Ryan and I have become huge fans of Food Network. One of our favorite shows on the channel is "Ace of Cakes". Lately, every time we watch Ryan talks about how much he wants to make a cool cake like the kind of cakes they make on the show. So today, that was what happened. He made a very delicious cake. It was 4 layers of cake with vanilla pudding, frosting, strawberries, and kiwis in between the layers. He literally did the whole thing. All I helped with was making the frosting and pudding. I thought it was very cool of him to be so creative and go out on a limb like that. We have made plans for future cake making rendezvous like the one today.

A very distinguished picture of the proud chef.

A not so distinguished picture of the proud chef!

A side and aerial shot of the masterpiece!

Wow. That's all I have to say. Now stop being a chicken and show us some belly shots! :)

I love the ace of cakes. Yours is just as fancy. I love this post Wissy and Wywy! I hope little Wadawin likes cake too!

Looks yummy!!! You say "pudding" and "cake" in the same blog and I'm all over it.

You did mention that you like Ace of Cakes, however you didn't mention that you speak to each other in baby voices. I guess the note blew your cover! (Although I'm not sure you were trying to cover it up). The cake seems delish though and I love that Ryan decided he wanted to do that randomly one day.

The cake really looks delicious. Doubt it will last until I get there next week. I suppose you could freeze a piece.
