Christmas '07

All dressed up in our Sunday best for church at our old ward.

This Christmas we traveled to Henderson to spend Christmas with my family. After the Thanksgiving drive this drive seemed like a piece of cake! We were able to spend a week in Henderson. It was really nice to spend time with my family and see our old friends at church. About 75% of the women in our ward were pregnant when we moved, so it was really cool to see all the cute new babies around Addy's age. We also went on the 3rd biannual father/daughters shoe shopping excursion to DSW. Which if you've never been is a shoe paradise! Really awesome! If you have one anywhere nearby I would recommend that you go ASAP. Anyway, I'm not exactly sure how the tradition started but every time we are in Henderson for Christmas my dad takes all the daughters shopping on Christmas Eve day for a new pair of shoes. It's a tradition that I hope will continue for many years to come! Another tradition that we've started in our family is having breakfast for dinner on Christmas Eve. It's great, because I love breakfast foods a lot! (Except of course eggs, BLECK!) The best part of the breakfast are the orange rolls that my mom makes, which I show in the picture below. She makes them completely from scratch and they are so good! She tried a new recipe this year and they are even better than in previous years! We ended up having a great Christmas, opening gifts, playing games, and just hanging out with my family.

My sister, Jessica bought this adorable outfit for Addy to wear.

The nieces, it was so cute to see Ana with Addy. She loved her so much!

The Smith's enjoying the delightful breakfast!

These are the aforementioned orange rolls, DELICIOUS!

Addy used to hate this baby carrier, but now loves hanging out in it with Ryan. (Although it doesn't look like it in this picture!)

I thought this was such a cute picture, she looks so tiny on my parents giant couch!

My Dad opening his favorite treat, orange sticks.

My mom bought this lap harp for Ana, but I think the adults ended up enjoying it the most!

It was good seeing all of you! I was sad too that we didn't get a picture of the girls. I even brought my camera with me to your parents house! Oh well. Hopefully sometime in the near future we can have a photo shoot.

I LOVE the picture of Addy on the couch. It looks like it's going to eat her. I don't love the picture of Brady and me. My hair is all stringy and weird and looks totally white trash.

It looks like a wonderful Christmas. Your Mom is welcome to send us some of her rolls anytime :)

I have a Music Maker too-I got it about 15 years ago. (I think it has a different name now) It used to be made by an LDS company, and I was able to get some primary songs for it. (it has since been bought by another company, I believe) I'll see if I can dig them up and send them to Jessica.

We loved that you could come and stay with us! It was so much fun. You'll soon be able to post a blog about the DSW Tradition. I just emailed you some pictures.

Love you guys!

Melissa! I'm so glad you surfed into me to say hi.(Who do we jointly know? Its such a small world.) You and Marie are my two favorite gals from school and the ones I miss and wish to keep up with. Your baby is beautiful. How are you enjoying motherhood. If we are ever in Las Vegas at the same time lets get together. Wish you the best! What is your DH doing for grad school?
