Anyone who knows me even a little bit probably knows that I really love cookies. I also enjoy baking cookies and think I'm pretty good at it. Not to brag, but it's true and I know my sisters will think it's funny that I said that! Having a newborn I don't exactly have a lot of free time to make delicious baked goods. As I was watching the Food Network the other day Paula Deen happened to be making some cookies. They were sugar cookies (store bought, mind you) sliced thin and wrapped around Keebler grasshopper (also store bought) cookies. I thought to myself I love sugar cookies, I love mint and chocolate mingled together, and I love things that are easy. With that in mind I decided to make the cookies. They were without a doubt the easiest cookies I've ever made and quite delicious! I thought I'd share the recipe with all of you to try, since I know many others of you out there don't have a lot of time to make delicious baked goods. Here's what you do:Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Slice store bought sugar cookies into thin slices. Take two of the sugar cookie slices and place a grasshopper cookie in between them. Form the sugar cookie dough around the grasshopper cookie. Bake for 10 minutes.
That's it! So easy and really good! Love ya Paula Deen!

Those were some good cookies, and yes, Melissa is very good at making cookies and loves to brag about it. She truly is the cookie monster.
I wish I liked mint and I'd try Paula's recipe. Did she recommend anything else for the middle? I love sugar cookies but don't like all the time it takes rolling and cutting them out--as you know.
Forgot to ask--did Julie have the baby yet?
Nope Jan, no baby yet!!! :) Go check out my blog and it has all the updates!
I love the cookie idea. Do they ship well? Because that would be really fun to open my mailbox with a scent of chocolate mint! heehee
And Paula Deen is so cute, with all her "low fat" recipes. Happy baking!
That sounds really good! I'll have to try it sometime. Paula Dean is the cutest lady.
You think you're "pretty good" at cookie making? That's an understatement. You think you're the bomb dot com at making cookies! But I guess you're allowed to think that because you really are good at it. I made some Snickerdoodles two nights ago that were a disaster and I actually wished I had you there to just make them for me. I suck at baking lately because I never do it anymore. Anywho, I really want to try this recipe out. It seems like it would be hard to screw up...but I guess you never know!
My mailbox is plenty big for a box of cookies too :)
You could just bring care packages to Aunt Patty and Uncle Scott's house :)
Melissa, I'm surprised you didn't make the sugar cookie dough yourself just so you could brag about how good it is (and not let anyone have a taste of it before the cookies bake). :) I'll definitely be trying this! The thought of it makes me ecstatic as I also love cookies (or baked goods of any kind).
Mom:Paula recommended putting mini candy bars in the middle, which would be really good!
Cookie beggars: You guys need to make these cookies yourselves, that's why I put the recipe on here in the first place! Very, very easy!
Kelly: I will for sure be making some kind of treat for the Mills family party, probably rocky road fudge! I love fudge so very much!
Those sound so good! cookies are the best.
You could also put a couple of those cookies in a bowl of vanilla ice cream, pour some hot fudge on there, and pour in a bunch of milk! That's the way Melissa likes her ice cream--covered in milk.
