When my mom came to visit us at the beginning of March I went on-line to look up things to do while she was here. I came across this flower field place in Carlsbad, which is only about an hour away from our house. We weren't able to go when my mom was here, but to celebrate Ryan's first day of spring break we decided to venture that way. I thought it was pretty freakin' awesome, because there were just so many flowers. It was so beautiful to look out and see colorful flowers for miles and miles. Ryan and Addy on the other hand, weren't such huge fans. Addy was fairly cranky and ended up needing to be carried in her carrier and falling asleep. Ryan probably would have liked to be carried around in a carrier, but ended up walking around with me and wasn't nearly as excited about all the flowers as I was. Something really cool they had was a sweet pea maze. There was also a guy playing some sweet music on a pan flute, which I tried to get pictures of and failed miserably in all attempts to do so. (It was one of those situtations where you want to take a picture of someone, without them knowing that you're taking their picture!) Anyway, I thought it was a really beautiful place and a lovely springtime activity to participate in.

Sweet pea success, we made it out of the maze and lived to tell about it!

Ryan, expressing his feelings about the whole situation!

Addy was all pooped out!

I couldn't resist taking a picture of Addy's chubby hand!

These were some cool looking Lego flowers.

Atleast Ryan went with you even though he hated it. We can go together sometime while Brad and Ryan hang out. Sounds like a plan.
Oh I LOVE flowers!! Seriously, every Spring I get all excited and plant like ten million in my front flower bed. They pretty much all die by June because I have no skills (and we all know from Napolean Dynamite that you need skills -- oh well, at least I still have my numchuck skills). Anyway I would have loved it at that lovely flowery place!!
P.S. Is there a brown dinosaur eating the lego flowers???
I love her fat hand! This place looks beautiful. If we ever make it down there we'll have to go. I thought Ryan was doing the thumbs down to his new facial hair thing. I know I am.
I loved looking at this blog yesterday but didn't comment, just appreciated the blog and loved seeing the pictures. I didn't comment, but after seeing how you appreciate comments I will. I loved the flowers, loved precious Addy's little hand, and am glad you guys do fun things together. What really made me smile though, was thinking about how often in nearly 40 years of marriage I have convinced Ryan's Dad to go with me to some event I think is fabulous and he just hates it. He would not be interested in the gardens. To the men in our family, fun events involve a referee or umpire, a whistle and a moving ball. Keep posting!
I love 1.) Addy delectable wrist. 2.) Ryan's face expressing how he feels about the situation.
Who doesn't like a good romp through the flower fields while some dude plays a pan flute? That seems like something you'd see in a movie!
I want to bite Addy's chubby hands. Ana thinks she looks SOOOO cute and can't wait to see you guys! Only one month away...hooray!
