I heard some great news this morning! My elder sister sent me a link to an interview that the New Kids on the Block did with People online. I can't tell you how much I adored NKOTB back in the 80's. Jordan Knight was my favorite (I seriously thought I was going to marry him!) and it also happened to be the first concert I ever went to. I was only 8 years old and it was the most exciting event ever. (At least at that point in my life!) My sister Jessica, who I mentioned earlier was about 11 or 12 at the time and owned every piece of New Kids memorabilia you can think of. She had a pillowcase, a water bottle, the giant over sized buttons, the small buttons, pretty much every magazine they were ever in, and on and on. She got so excited at the concert that she actually threw up, which is something she is known to do when she gets overly excited. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if when she saw this interview she actually threw up a little. So back to my original point, apparently the New Kids are back together and are launching a come back tour. If they came here, I would seriously love to go! It's true that I'm a grown woman and they are a boy band, but they were the boy band of my generation and they are the best boy band ever! It would bring back such great childhood memories for me. I heard about this awhile ago on one of the radio stations here and immediately thought of Jessica. When I'm working with a particular person I always bring up one of their songs (it won't do it justice if I try to type it out) and she hates me all day because it'll get stuck in her head. NKOTB, good times!
This made my day! I loved them!!! I'd so go to the concert too, you know it would be all ladies in their 20's and early 30's going so it wouldn't be that embarassing.
That would be one funny concert. Lots of younger old ladies fainting (or barfing) at the excitement. I can't even say I remember a song they sang....I probably would recognize one if I heard it. I know Kristen and Julianne loved them. You all should make a girls weekend out of it and go have some fun lusting over these now men.
I did not love them! I was older when they became popular. But I do love Justin Timberlake.

I'm digging out all of my old gear and we are SO going to their concert! Joey-Joe is still as cute as ever. He was cracking me up in that interview...and I naturally believe he's married to the wrong person at this very moment because he's DEFINITELY supposed to be married to me. I diligently wrote to the fan club every week for like two years. O.K. so maybe that makes me a stalker.
I'm dead serious when I say that I want to go with you and Jess!

I heard DJ's talking about new Kids this morning, and then they played The Right Stuff...so now I remember who they are. Too funny!
I had to look at this again, because it cracked me up so much yesterday. That photo is SO unfortunate. I'm guessing they despise it. Especially Joe. He totally looks like a girl with that hair and make-up. Oh dear!
This made me laugh so hard. I first met Jessica in the midst of her New Kid's hay day. I wasn't a fan, but I liked her for her passion and for nearly beating up Adam VanDyke for mocking them once.
