I took Addy grocery shopping yesterday and she rode in the cart with her chubby legs dangling down. This was the first time she's ever done this and she had the time of her life! My suspicion is that the reason she liked it so much, was because she was able to look around at everything with the greatest of ease. She could look at me, she could look at all the food and she could also look at the numerous old folks that came up and told her how cute she was. From now on that's how she'll be rollin' on our weekly shopping trips. On a related note, I would really like to get one of those shopping cart cover things, as seen in the picture. Has anyone ever tried one? Know someone who has? If so, give me your opinion. My main reason for using them is not comfort. Perhaps I'm just being a germaphobe, but I've heard about all the nastiness found on shopping cart handles, (i.e. feces, bleck!) inside the area where Addy would be sitting, etc.

I was given one at one of my baby showers. I love it for the exact same reason. It sometimes can be a pain putting it on the cart, putting the straps through, etc. but I like it. It comes with some cute toys that will keep the kiddo entertained.
I've seen those around town and think they look really handy. I for sure would have used one if they'd been invented when you were a baby.
I swear we are always thinking or doing the same things with our girls. K-Grace just started sitting up there too...she isn't so sure about it, but I am making her. Everytime I go anywhere, and have to put her in one of those I think I want one of those covers too. My mother in law makes them. I just have to get around to getting the fabric, and then having her make it. Good luck!
I've thought about getting one, but they seem like too big of a hassle to me. I just keep antibacterial wipes in my diaper bag, and I wipe down anywhere Max touches before I put him in. I'm like you...a germaphobe, especially when Max's favorite thing is to try to eat the cart! We'll miss you this weekend when we're hanging out with your fam!

I got one also, but I confess, I never opened it. It just seemed like one more thing to carry around. Maybe since you only have one kid, it won't be that big of a pain. I know my sister loves hers. I use antibacterial wipes.
I totally wanted one of these when my girls were little but never got one. If we have any more babies, this is a must!
I haven't attempted the sitting up in the cart thing yet, I'm a little nervous it will be a disaster and I'll end up having to carry him the whole time. Ugh. Ive seen those wipes in a few stores around here. Trader Joe's, Lucky...
When we were in FL all the mommies had these for their kids. I recommend it. I wish I had one, and I plan on getting one for our next kid.
I remember the joy I felt when my 1st, Justin could sit up in a cart...great milestone! Hooray for you and Addy.
You really should get one. Those came out shortly after I had Ana and I was wishing (1 that I was the inventor and (2 that they would have come out BEFORE I had Ana since we all know that germophobism runs in the family.
