3 Years!

On July 2nd Ryan and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. Lucky for us, we were in Napa at the time. My mother-in-law (who is truly one of the nicest ladies I know!) went out at a very early hour and bought us doughnuts and chocolate milk to eat for breakfast. In the afternoon we left Addy with Ryan's mom and played mini-golf. True, it is a fairly white trash thing to do on an anniversary, but we had a fun time despite the fact that the wind was blowing about 50 MPH. In the evening we drove to a little town near Napa, called St. Helena for dinner. It's such a cute little town and really charming. It's also fairly snooty, but still very cute. The drive there and back would have been worth it, because all the vineyards are such a pretty sight to see. We ended up eating dinner at a place called, Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen. It was this lovely old house that had been transformed into a little restaurant. I wish that it could be my house in real life. It had all these pretty flower boxes, a fireplace outside, and this perfect trellis with vines growing all over it. Our food ended up being very good. It was like home cooking, done up fancy. After dinner, Ryan gave me a very nice love letter and some See's chocolates. I have never had my very own box of See's chocolates and felt it was high time that I had the experience. They were the most delicious thing ever. You can never go wrong with a box of chocolates. I felt like quite the idiot, because I didn't buy a gift for Ryan and I also gave him his anniversary card the day after our anniversary. I win the award for world's worst wife on our anniversary this year! No matter though, because it was so nice to be able to spend so much time on that day with just the two of us. It was a very fun filled and lovely day with Ry! Here's to many more years, just as nice as the last 3 have been!

I golfed very badly, but Ryan got a hole in one!

This was our dessert, it is called campfire pie. The top layer looks like meringue, (bleck, no thank you!) but it's actually roasted marshmallow cream. So dang good!

Ryan thought these glasses were really cool. The glass they were made of was very thick and the colors were really nice too.

Lovely place, eh?

I forgot to ask about your anniversay. Glad you bloged about it. I do think it's fair to call St. Helena snooty. That's an understatement. Did Ryan sign his letter "wywy" again?
