It's About Thyme

Note: I am mostly posting this, because I was so excited about using a punny title. What can I say? I am a simple lady who finds joy in the little things in life!
For my birthday, which was way back in April Ryan bought me some herbs, cute lil' planter boxes and a watering can so that I could start an herb garden. I actually planted them over a month ago, but forgot and didn't do a post about it then, so I'm playing catch up with this one. Since we don't so much have a yard to plant things in, I planted them in the boxes on our porch area. They were growing quite well to start with, but aren't doing the best now since we were out of town for awhile and I couldn't give them any T.L.C. they needed. Hopefully they will start growing well again soon. Addy's favorite part of the whole thing was trying to get her hands into the dirt and stuff it in her mouth. Of course, her plans were quickly thwarted (gotta love the word thwarted, at least I do!) when I took her hands and brushed all the dirt off. Anyway, enough of all this chatter and on to some pictures...

As is evident from Addy's rosy cheeks, it was quite a hot day outside when we did the planting.

Here is the finished product. I think the bird poop on the ledge adds a nice touch, don't you?

Sounds nummy. Fresh herbs add wonderful flavor. Addy looks like she is enjoying the experience.
I just tried signing on to the google reader you recommended earlier. Not sure what to expect.

I appreciate your pun. We have some herbs growing in a big planter bucket on our front porch. I forget that I can have fresh oregano and parsley, I don't use the cilantro much (it's more for Brien)and I've never cooked much with thyme, so it continues to grow. We do like our potatoes with sour cream and fresh chives.

I'm glad you live somewhere they have a chance of growing. They look so cute perched up on the porch...bird poop and all!

Look at you--growing your own herbs! What are you growing besides thyme?
