Gratitude

I am most assuredly a person that is guilty of complaining. However, lately I've been trying to do it less. After hearing President Thomas S. Monson's talk at General Conference on being grateful for what we've been given, I've been trying even harder. For me, this was my favorite talk given and one that I felt I really needed to hear. In the spirit of not complaining, I'd like to share some things that I feel grateful for right now:
*My faith, it has helped me in times of trouble and has brought me joy throughout the course of my life.
*My family, immediate and extended. I was raised by 2 wonderful and loving parents and siblings that I didn't always get along with growing up, but that I'm good friends with now. I am married to a man that I truly love and adore, he is a kind and loving father and husband. Being away from him for the bulk of our dating and engagement made me love and appreciate him even more and not take our time together for granted. Addy is the joy of my life, she makes me laugh and brings me happiness every single day! I love watching here learn and change. Ryan's family are also the nicest people. They have always been welcoming and loving to me, even when Ryan and I were just boyfriend and girlfriend.
*Living in San Diego. Who could really ask for a nicer place to live? Some people end up moving to nasty, cold places when their husbands go to grad. school. We are living in a place that has the loveliest weather year round and has so many fun things to see and do.
*My friends. I have always been blessed with friends, of my faith and not of my faith who were excellent people. People who I have truly admired and loved.
*My good health. The first time I ever had to go to the hospital, was about a year ago when I had Addy. Other than that, the worst thing that's ever happened to me was having stitches in my hand after going on "The hike from Hell."
*Living in the United States. It is great to live in a country where I am free to practice my religion, dress and speak how I chose and vote in elections.
There are of course, many other things that I am grateful for. These are just the main things I could think of right now.

I too loved that talk. I love what a simple man he is.

Oh what a good idea for a post, Melissa! That was for sure also my favorite talk as I realized how much time I spend being frustrated or complaining when my life is so dang full of people and stuff that make me so so so lucky! Why not focus on that for a change!

I'm grateful for a wife that never nags me, tries hard not to complain about things, and bought a ton of cool stuff for me to eat this weekend while she is getting her NKOTB on!
