"Turkey for me, turkey for you, let's have turkey in a big brown shoe"

Thanksgiving is the best! Here are the reasons:
*I get to be with family. Either my family (this year) or Ryan's family. Either way I love being with family, it makes me feel happy and loved!
*I love Thanksgiving food! Mashed potatoes are my favorite food on planet earth. I also love stuffing, green bean casserole and of course pie. (Not so much the turkey though, to be honest)
*I think Black Friday is lots of fun. Not so much fun when I worked in the retail industry, but now it's great. Lots of super sweet deals to be found!
*I like it when it's fall time and all the leaves start to change colors and it gets colder outside.
*It allows me and all of us to reflect for a little while on what we're truly thankful for.
*Thanksgiving being here means that Christmas is just around the corner. For some reason this year I am especially excited for Christmas to come. Usually I get so annoyed with all the stores putting up their Christmas garb so early, but this year it makes me so happy to see all of it up! Addy also loves to look at all of it, because it's so shiny and makes noises.

I love it for all the same reasons, but I LOVE turkey. It just is so yummy, and I'm not really a pie person, but of course, I will eat it. I hope all of you have fun at your parents! I hope Addy gets to try lots of thanksgiving treats.

Mike barely told me last night that the day after Thanksgiving is Bloack Friday. Why don't I ever know anything?? I thought black friday sounded to ominous and foreboding, but he said the idea is it's the day retail goes "in the black" rather than the red. Once again, why don't I ever know what everyone else knows!!??

I'm so so glad to have it officially announced that I am the smartest woman alive (well, one of two) . . . because, as I mentioned I was feeling a little dumb about not knowing what black friday was.

We didn't "love" the turkey and and mashed potatoes quite enough. I feel very wasteful, but I let the turkey carcass sit in the garage fridge till it was too scary to eat--same thing with the huge leftover bowl of mashed potatoes. Maybe I should've listened to your dad when he said 10 lbs. of potatoes was too much? Love you and miss you!!
