Thanksgiving Trip 2008

It has taken me way longer than it should have to post this. I've been busy, but at the same time lazy lately. If that makes any sense? On with the post though...We were able to go visit my family for Thanksgiving this year. Addy and I drove up a little early, so as to avoid the driving fiasco from last year's Thanksgiving. Luckily Addy was very good on the drive. Ryan had classes, so he flew up to meet us the day before Thanksgiving. We had a very nice time with my family. Some of the fun stuff we did was...
*Jess, Joce, Mom and I did some midnight shopping on Black Friday at one of the outlet malls in Las Vegas. A little disappointing, since the bulk of the time was spent standing in line at the Gymboree outlet. The line seemed short, but people buying lots of stuff + 2 registers open + 1 of the cashiers not knowing what she was doing = a lot of waiting in line. It was fun nonetheless.
*Ate lots of delicious food, especially the Thanksgiving feast. My mom makes the best rolls known to man, so that helps. Also, she makes an awesome pumpkin dessert. I made this dessert, which was also quite delightful!
*Watched Addy play with my parents dog, Quincy. She's been scared of him in the past, but this time around she was loving that furry little fella!
*Went out with our friends Jayna and Travis. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings, which we always have to do in Las Vegas. Ryan loves him those wings! We also went bowling at Sunset Station. They are such a fun couple and great friends and it was nice to go out on a double date with them.
*Went to see the movie Bolt with my family. I would highly recommend it. It was very funny for both Ana and the adults.
Went to the Bellagio and saw the lovely conservatory Thanksgiving display. I always love going there, it's just an amazing place! Also, got to see the fountains which is probably my favorite thing to do on The Strip.
*Got to go to our old ward and see lots of friends. Many who have babies right around Addy's age. It was really nice to see everyone again.
*Got to participate in JAWS, my nieces before school walking program. It's always entertaining to watch and listen to the kids. Also, Addy loves it!
*Most of all, just hanging out with my family. It's always nice to go back home and see the, even though it does tend to make me quite homesick for Henderson.

There will be lots of pictures, so brace yourselves!

Ryan put some of his hair wax in Addy's hair, this was the result!

This was a cool/creepy talking tree inside the conservatory at the Bellagio

For some reason, we couldn't get a family picture without Addy throwing her hands up in the air. I guess she was excited for the Thanksgiving dinner to start!

Addy enjoyed all the delicious food. She also enjoyed rubbing it in her hair.

My niece made the place cards for our dinner. She also wrote each person's favorite color on their card. My favorite color was "turkoise"

Ryan worked very hard to finish this puzzle.

Looks like you guys had a great time! I'm glad the drive wasn't too bad.

It looks like we did a lot of the same things for Thanksgiving. I am surprised we didn't run into each other!

Melissa failed to mention what may have been the highlight of the trip: Me and Brady got to play in a Turkey bowl game on Thanksgiving with a bunch of guys from our old ward. How'd I do? Let's just say I had two picks and two TDs, and I didn't break my body. The kryptonic power of the tattoo came alive.

Also, on Thursday I wore my inaugural Thanksgiving sweater. I'm gonna start wearing a cheesy sweater every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This one had suede elbow pads and a lion on the chest.

Great Pics! Nice comment Ryan. Frank and Jordan played in the Turkey Bowl here. Jordan sprained his finger pretty bad, but they had fun. Maybe we will have to have a game on Christmas day. Jordan has a flag football set. So what are you going to wear for Christmas?

I loved all of the pictures. Addy's hair will probably never be the same. I somewhat questioned Ryan's sweater, but I am so out of style, that I can't comment on anything of the sort. I'm glad you had a great trip!
