They had to put some kind of salt solution on the electrodes that they attached to Addy's head, causing her to have some totally funky looking hair!
A few months ago I noticed something when Addy was sitting in her high chair. She would be sitting there eating away and then she would pause and go into a trance. Also, her eyes would kind of lose focus. It was like one of her eyes would wander. It was a bit strange, really. I kept a close eye on it and noticed that it was happening to her a few times a week. I brought it up with her pediatrician and she referred us to a neurologist to get her tested. She was worried that she might be having small seizures. A couple of weeks back we took her in and they had to put all kinds of electrodes all over her little head to see what kind of brain activity she was having. The catch was, she had to be asleep and completely still for at least 20 minutes in order for them to monitor her brain waves. I was very concerned about this, because she has become the type of baby that will pretty much never fall asleep in a person's arms. She's just used to falling asleep in her crib. Luckily Ryan was able to come with me to the appointment, because otherwise I would have been a total nervous Nelly! She was able to fall asleep in his arms, for about 30 minutes. A real miracle, seriously! It was so cute to watch her sleep in her daddy's arms. I only wish we would have brought the camera to document the cuteness of it. So fast forward to yesterday, I took her back to have a consultation with the pediatric neurologist. He said her brain scan looked totally normal. He asked me a bunch of questions about her staring spells (which by the way, haven't happened since I mentioned them to her pediatrician) and her development and also watched what she was doing while in the office. He told me that he thinks she's doing fine and may have just been having a little reflux from the new, solid foods that were being introduced to her a few months back. Very good news for our family!

I'm so glad everything is fine. And I LOVE the hair! I think it's time for you to get yourself some salt solution!
That is such good news. It is so hard when your kids are sick especially when it can be serious. I am glad everything worked out.
Oohh, I am so glad she is OK!! It seems like with every one of my kids there will be several small random things that will freak me out because they cold be nothing . . . or they could be the one in a million horrible case of a brain tumor or something terrifying. And having my bro as a pediatrician, I have heard the few rare times when a mom comes in because her child is suddenly walking a little funny or something and they do get such unbelievable news. SO!! I am so glad she is fine, and we have one tiny bit of video footage from when I was little that all my family loves to laugh at because I was just in a trance during the footage for a lONG time . . . so maybe she'll grwo up to be as wonderful as me!
It's always scary getting your kid tested for something, but you can never be too careful. I'm glad you got it done and everything turned out well!
