Well at least some of you asked for it. "It" being my weekly dinner menus. I make no promises that I will post them every Monday or even every week, but I will try to be consistent about it. I use some recipes from Food Network and other various sites, so I will give links to any online recipes that I use. This is by no means my own original idea, but hopefully it helps other people out. I often get stuck in a rut with dinners and keep making the same things week after week, so it's nice to get ideas/inspiration from other people. If nothing else, it will help me stay on top of my own dinner menus each week.
Here's what's on the menu for this week:
Monday: Aloha chicken kebabs (from the Deceptively Delicious cookbook) and oven fries
Tuesday: Crockpot lasagna with green beans and breadsticks or garlic bread
Wednesday: Two bean tamale pie (from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, this is a good meatless dish)
Thursday: Navajo tacos (thanks for the idea Kelly and I will be using that dough recipe this week!)
Friday: Homemade pizza (this is what we have every Friday. We do a pre-made pizza dough from Fresh and Easy or Trader Joe's, homemade sauce and whatever toppings we feel like.)
Saturday:Leftovers or go out (this is generally what we do every week)
Sunday:Terisha's crockpot chicken with frozen stir fry veggies and rice
If you would like any of the recipes let me know and I'll send them along to you! Happy eating!

How nice that you can cook all the time. Do you like it? I remember when Frank was on Midnights and the kids were still little, and we were home I would cook a big dinner. It was so fun. Now he's on swing shift and I am always running the kids around. I still cook, just not as fancy.
I love that you are doing this. I'm in the same boat as you, always looking for ideas. I like that so many blogs have recipes on them. In fact, that's what I'm doing now....looking for food ideas. You could get really detailed and add pictures after you make them. I need pictures to see the result, or I normally won't make it. I'm weird like that.

This is my friends blog..which she hasn't updated it in awhile, but she's a really good cook.
I find that when I plan ahead for meals, I spend less, dinners are less hectic and I'm happier since I don't have to stress about what to have. Lately, Justin has been doing a bulk of the cooking. He is so much a better cook than I am. We ate last night at 4:30pm. Funny, huh? Let me know how you like the navajo tacos. We had them on sunday, and in one batch I forgot the baking powder. They weren't very good due to that error!!
Keep up the good work with cooking and menus!
Kristen:I love to cook and bake, it's one thing that I feel confident in doing and makes me feel good. My stuff is definetly not fancy either. I use the crockpot at least a couple times a week, because it's so easy.
Juli:I like it when people post pictures too. It helps to see what it's going to look like when it's all done. I may start doing that.
Kelly:We've made Navajo tacos before, but I've only ever used the frozen roll dough. Like Rhodes or something. I'm sure homemade dough would make them a lot better. That's cool that Justin does a lot of the cooking. Ryan is a good cook too and does it when he can.
