A Birthday Celebration

Isn't this a funny picture? This is Addy's favorite face lately! What a little ham!

Ryan's birthday was a few weeks ago and it was an all day celebration! For lunch we all went to a cute little 50's style diner cafe downtown. The ambience was wonderful, but the food was not so great. As a funny little sidenote, this is also the day we found out that Addy knows how to count. When we parked to go to lunch we had to use a metered spot. I started putting coins in the meter and as I put the first one in Ryan said, "one" then as I kept putting coins in Addy said "two, three, four..." All the way up to six! We couldn't believe our ears! I have no idea how she learned to count like that. It was the most adorable thing ever and a great birthday present for Ryan! After lunch we headed over to the Whole Foods just a couple of blocks away to pick up some cheesecake for later that night. Ryan requested the cheesecake as his birthday cake and I was all for it! That night we had our friend babysit Addy and we went to see Star Trek. I wasn't expecting it to be that great, but both Ryan and I ended up really liking it. Lots of action, but also lots of funny parts. When we got home from the movie Ryan opened his gifts and we enjoyed our cheesecake. I think that Ryan had an enjoyable birthday this year and it was a well deserved day of celebration for him!

This was a great restaurant for Ryan, seeing as how they had his favorite food (pickles) at every table!

I too really enjoyed Star Trek. We used to watch Heroes and Spok used to be on there as a sadistic serial killer so it took me a moment to not get the heebie jeebies every time he came on screen. But it was a lot better than I imagined it would be.

I've seen that place before. I'm glad you gave me a review before we tried it out! We should go to Corvette Diner together. I hear it's a very fun, family friendly place!
