and we couldn't believe, that it's a boy!!!

Rather than finding out the gender of our baby via the ultrasound, we had the ultrasound tech. put a picture revealing the babies gender in an envelope. Then we took the envelope to my friend, she opened it and made us a blue cake. When we cut into it, we got to find out what we were having. My friend Kiersten was so kind as to volunteer to make us a cake. I was glad she did, because the cake she made was delicious! It was a much more suspenseful and fun way to do things, plus we got to have cake! Who doesn't love that?

Doesn't Addy look simply thrilled about having a baby brother? I think that she was pretty wiped out. I picked this night to made Alton Brown's Swedish meatballs for dinner. Delicious, but probably one of the most time consuming meals I've ever made! Not so smart! By the time we cut into the cake it was pretty late.

It's exciting for my side of the family to be having a boy, because that's never happened before. I have two sisters and so far, we've all had only girls. On the other hand, we're the last family on Ryan's side to have a boy. Can you guess who is most excited about the fact that we're having a baby boy? If you guessed Ryan, you would be correct! He had a big smile on his face the entire night. Exciting news for all of us!

Melissa! That is so exciting, and yes, I seriously can not imagine a boy in the Jones family! Your dad, who has been surrounded by girls his entire married life, must be so excited. Seriously, I can't wait to see how this little fella fits in with all you girls. So fun.

Congratulations! What a lucky little boy! I think it's impressive you didn't know at the ultrasound. If I had any self control I would steal this idea, but since I don't you don't have to worry about being copycatted.

All boys need a big sister more than girls need a big brother, I've decided.
