Our Beautiful Baby Girl

Hello family and friends! This is Ryan, your guest host for this post. Melissa is trying to catch a little sleep, so I'm filling in. I won't write too much, because I know Melissa would want to be the one typing all the cool and/or crappy stuff thats happened to us in the last few days, such as spending the night at Qualcomm Stadium. Anyway, we had our baby today! Her name is Adeline Lilly Mills, she weighs 8 lbs 2 oz, and is 20 inches long. She was born at 3:20pm. She has dirty blonde hair like her mom and dad, and has chubby Mills cheeks. She is very healthy and we're totally excited that she's here! Melissa is doing great too, very very tired, but great. The anesthesia finally wore off after about 4 and a half hours. Adeline already loves her mom, it's really cute to watch Melissa hold the baby. Here are some of the pix, I actually got some pretty graphic ones of the C section, but I've left them out for those who are prone to barfing. You might have wanted more pix of the baby, but in most of them she was either crying or covered in weird baby funk.

Here is Melissa's first time seeing Adeline. It was a pretty precious moment.

Here is our first family portrait, about two minutes after the baby was born.

This is right after the baby's first bath. She wasn't happy about the bath, but she enjoyed being clean.

This is the first time Melissa got to actually hold the baby. Since we had the C section she had to wait in a room by herself for like 3 hours before Adeline and I rolled in.

"I'll give you five seconds to get that camera outta my grill you pale freak!"

Daddy's little girl. Little did Daddy know that he would be changing a black, tar-ish, poopy natural disaster area that the little girl created in her diaper about 8 hours later.

I was so glad I stayed up late so I got to see the pictures of precious, chubby Adeline before going to bed. Her cheeks are the best. I'm most excited to hold her and so happy and relieved she's finally here! Congratulations--you'll be wonderful parents. Love you!!

Thank you for posting pictures so quickly! I was sure how soon you would be able to get them up. Did you head back to Qual Comm in order to type up your blog? I cannot wait to meet her in person. Ana & I are so excited!!! Ana is writing down information about her because everyone has been asking us if she is here yet. Glad all is well! XOXO to my niece, sista and if Ryan feels like it, to him as well.

Thanks for posting pictures and sharing your story! Congrats to both of you (and good luck - the real fun is just about to begin).

Ryan: you said in your e-mail we could leave comments or $1000 bills... so where's the PayPal link? Guess you missed out on that opportunity!

What a beautiful family. We can't wait to see you all at Christmas. What a story you'll have to tell her when she gets older. I'm sooo glad you're all doing well.
Love ya!

P.S. since Adeline was born in a fire storm, I thought an appropriate nickname for her might be Cinder. Food for thought
