"I Have Always Depended on the Kindness of Strangers"
I always really appreciate it when people do something nice for other people, even if it's just a little thing. It's especially great when the person that another person is doing something nice for happens to be me. Today I was doing our weekly grocery shopping with Addy in tow. I had unloaded all the groceries and strapped Addy into her car seat. I was about to go and return my cart into the cart corral thing. An old lady in the car parked next to mine also happened to be unloading her groceries. When she saw that I was about to go return my cart she said, "I'll take your cart for you, since you have a baby in the car." I replied, "Oh, that's okay I can do it." She insisted that she take the cart though, so I let her do it. Not a huge gesture, but such a nice way for her to perform an act of service for lil' ol me. With how wrapped up we as a society (myself included) can get in my own life sometimes, it's nice to know that there are still kind and helpful people out there setting an example for the rest of us!

What a nice little lady!!! It is so cool when things like that happen. I think that's one of the reasons I still love to get a card or letter in the mail (the actual post as opposed to email), beacuse it's a rarity.
Melissa! Glad you stopped by our blog. Of course I remembe you! I love this blog thing to get in touch with so many people. It looks like things are going good for you. Addy is a doll! We are all about boys in our house:) I'm gonna add you to my page, if that's okay, it'll be so fun to stay in touch.
I love stuff like that. Someone got me a cart as I was walking into the store with two kids the other day and it made me so happy even though it was so tiny. I'm glad you did this post because it is so true that little tiny kind gestures really can make people's day. One day I was at a pool with my kids. Noone else was there and then this tattooed cigareete smoking construction worker popped in to grab bottle of soda from the machine. As he left he said, "hey, I left a dollar in the machine in case your kids want a soda." It made me almost cry because I'd been thinking, "what a scary guy." and he just did a little thoughtful thing that totally made my kids day, and to this day they always tell that story if we ever are talking about not judging others, etc. Thanks for that great post Melissa!!
I totally have that problem everytime I go to the store. I have always been one of those people who return their cart to the little area for carts, but since I have had grace I don't like leaving her in the car all by her self (what if someone came and stole her from me), so I usally just run really fast to put it back, or I just leave it in the corner! Since having grace I have decided that when I am free of little childern I am going to help young mothers at the grocery store!
