1st Birthday Bash!

I thought this was a funny picture, because it looks like she's giving the loser sign on her forehead!

Don't you just hate it when you get cupcake in your tutu?

Aunt Juli and cousin Max

Addy's friends, London and Isabelle having a great time with the play-doh!

Addy's 1st birthday party ever turned out to be a success! I was lucky enough to have Ryan's mom and sister Juli (and of course, baby Max) come stay with us and help me out a whole bunch with the party. Seriously, I couldn't have pulled it off without all their assistance. We also had a lot of fun having them come stay with us! As I already said the theme for the decorations was butterflies and flowers. I was really happy with the way everything turned out. We have this wall in our dining room area that is completely bare, so that was turned into the Addy wall. I decorated it with her birthday sign, the flowers and bugs that I mentioned in a previous post and pictures from the post below, from birth all the way to now. I also made a butterfly cake out of cupcakes. It took me no less than 10 years to frost, but I was happy with the way it turned out also. I was expecting our apartment to be crowded, with how many people were here but it never seemed crowded to me. It's been nice enough weather (we're talking, still in the 90's in Octboer!) that we were able to have some outdoor things for the kids to do. We had play-doh, sidewalk chalk and coloring outside for them. The highlight of the party for me was watching Addy crawl around in her cute birthday outfit. I liked the fact that every part of her birthday outfit was purchased by a different person. The shirt was bought by Gran Jan, the tutu and leggings were from Aunt Jocey and the butterfly wings and wand (so precious, honestly!) were from Aunt Nini. Thanks guys! It was such a cute little outfit on her and she really looked like a birthday princess wearing it! We also had some good food and great gifts. We were glad that so many nice friends and family could be there to celebrate Addy's first year of life with us!

Boy, who's that mess with Max? You should crop her out. :)

We had fun staying with you guys. And you did a great job on her party. The wall was my favorite! I already miss little Addy. She is such a sweetheart!

You are way to fun!! Look at your Happy B-day wall with pics and everything! I hope you are scrap booking all of this so that even if Addie doesn't remember, she can look back and see that you were clearly the funnest possible mother she could ever have had!! I am happy to see she looked cheery (unlike Penny who cried and acted like we were torturing her by trying to force her to open presents and eat cake and the like).
