Addy and Ry at the trunk or treat
Addy checking out all the loot in her bag at the library
The reason that Addy is touching her head in both of these pictures, is because she was desperatley trying to get her headband off!
This year for Halloween, Addy got to dress up in her costume twice. We go to a moms and babies class at the library every week and they did a little dress up thing for that. I felt like a bit of a loser mom, because everyone else had video cameras and all I had was a crappy regular camera! Nonetheless I took lots of pictures of Addy's costume on that day, because I knew by the time we got her dressed up on the actual Halloween it would be late and she would likely be in a sad mood. I was glad I did, because that ended up being the case. She also got dressed up for our ward Trunk or Treat. There wasn't a huge attendance this year, but we still had a nice time seeing the folks that did come. Addy was the cutest little 50's girl I've ever seen!
Now for the incident. Before church this morning, Ryan and Addy were in the kitchen area eating breakfast. Meanwhile, I was in the bathroom washing my face. I heard the smoke alarm go off and didn't think much of it. A few seconds later Ryan comes into the bathroom and says, "I think there's a fire upstairs." I immediately run into the kitchen, grab Addy out of her high chair and run outside. There was some pretty thick smoke in the whole front part of our apartment. Turns out, Ryan left a piece of toast in the toaster (something that I can't believe I've never done!) and forgotten about it. Not a problem with a normal toaster, but our toaster is broken. In order for the toast to pop up you actually have to unplug the toaster. We were all just fine, but I'm pretty sure that our apartment is going to reek of burnt toast (not such a pleasant smell!) for at least another week. Also, I'm quite sure our upstairs neighbors can probably smell it too and pretty much hate our guts right now! To think I was worried about fires starting outside, when I should have been more concerned about them starting right here in our apartment.

She is the cutest little fifties girl!
That is so scary about the toast. I am glad everything ended up OK!
She looks awesome! I love her feet! I heard if you put a bowl of vinegar out for a few hours it will absorb the smoke smell. It will smell like salad dressing for a few hours, but it's better than smoke. :) It might be worth a try!
Addy looks SO adorable. I can't wait to see her again! When are you going visit?? I can't beleive the toast thing. I just hate when the smell gets into my clothes, then I stink until the smell is gone.
I love your kid and her costume. She looks gorgeous. Our upstairs neighbors burned bread in the microwave and it caused our smoke alarm to go off. Freaking nasty. Sorry about it being you!
SOOOO CUTE, she is sooo beautiful! We miss you guys I think we'll be in AK when you come up for christmas :(
addy is the cutest little 50's girl. i love it! sorry to hear about your unfortunate toast incident, although i will admit i did think it was a little funny because of how much you used to love burnt toast growing up (do you still?) and i thought for sure you wouldn't mind the smell of it!
