I am not a person who likes to deal with money, paying bills, etc. I worked at Old Navy for about 5 years and worked the cash register about 4 times ever. Why? Because I hate dealing with money, it totally freaks me out! Therefore I do not like being the person in charge of bill paying in our household. But like it or not, it's been my responsibility for the past couple of years. For about the first year and a half I was doing a piss poor (pardon the expression, but I love saying it!) job at it! However, I changed my ways and had been doing very well with the bill paying for the past while. That was until last week. Starting when I realized our car registration was overdue by almost a month! We're very lucky that we never got pulled over for that! I swear on my life that we never got a notice from the DMV and I will hold to that until my dying day! On the same night that I realized that our car registration was due, I also realized that we needed to pay our car insurance. It was 2 days past due and I almost wanted to cry, actually I did cry a little bit. What can I say, I'm a sissy! So once I realized our registration was past due I also realized that this year it was due for a smog check. Can I tell you how paranoid I was to drive that car 5 miles for a smog check? My paranoia grew by leaps and bounds when I saw this police tower on the side of the road, similar to the one in the picture above. I guess they're looking for people who are speeding? Who knows? I felt like I was in trouble for sure when I saw that. Mostly because if I ever try to do anything wrong knowingly I get caught and get in trouble. You'll recall this incident when I got in trouble for taking a picture of the cart elevator inside of Target. Who gets in trouble for taking a picture at Target, for heavens sake?!?! Luckily I did not get pulled over and I was able to go pay my registration with a $30 late fee added to it! Lesson learned and now I'll try to get back on track with my bill paying responsibilities.

don't get me started on the car registration here in CA. I'll have to tell you my story when i see. you.
Shortly before Brien and I were married he forgot to pay his car insurance bill. He was without insurance for maybe 24 hours. It took almost a year, but we received a bill for $250 as the fine for letting his insurance lapse.
I pay our registration on time, but forget that the paper that comes with the sticker is the registration form that I'm supposed to keep in the car. I've accidentally thrown it out on more than one occasion. I didn't realize the mistake until we were pulled over one time.
I've never seen one of these police lookout towers before. I wonder if there are really cops inside--OR are they just trying to make people think there are???
i'm glad for you you didn't get pulled over. it does seem right up your alley to get caught doing something you're not supposed to. haha.
It's Okay, it happens to everyone... good thing you never got pulled over. Your just a busy momma. YOu can't take pictures inside Target?
