Just wondering...
Has anyone else besides me been getting all sorts of weird hits on their blog lately? I have had a stat counter on my blog for quite some time now, because I'm a very curious person. That being said, I check my stats to see who is checking my blog numerous times throughout the day. What I've noticed in just the past week or so is that all kinds of people are visiting my blog from foreign countries, from Maylasia to Sweden. Since I don't know anyone from Maylasia or Sweden I have to wonder, who is this checking my blog? To be honest, it makes me feel really uncomfortable! Then there's this other person who's been checking not only my blog, but my sister's blog from Spain for about the past 6 months now. Who in the world do I know in Spain? Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but for the first time ever I'm considering making my blog private. Anyone who I want to read my blog does, so why should it matter if anyone else can see it? I don't know exactly what to do. Suggestions are welcomed!

I have considered making mine private too. I have stat counter, but I haven't looked at it in like a year.
I think when you begin to post regularly, your blog shows up in search engines (like google reader, for example). It's happened to me too. I think it's kinda cool that someone from that far away is looking at my life in the US. But . . .I know what you mean when you say it's kinda creepy. And. Don't you look at anyone's blog that you don't know personally? Or maybe I'm just creepy . . .
Did you notice how long they are on there for? I had some foreign countries come up on mine and but it showed they were on there for 1 min. It also showed that they googled something and the word they put in i had on my blog. Blogger has an option where you can take your blog off any search engines. I did that and it's much better.
Oh and this is Alisa, I am under my family account so I didn't know if you would know who it was.
yeah! who is that spaniard? they check mine almost every day! spaniard it's time to reveal yourself...we're on to you. i also have an italian who checks mine regularly. my biggest annoyance is actually a private blog that checks mine all the time and i don't know who it is. why would they have a link to me if i don't know who they are and i can't find out because they are private? annoying.
Well, I just found you by clicking "next blog" at the top of the screen.Blogs show up quite randomly. I do this on occasion to see if there are new and fun blogs out there that I would be interested in reading.
I have actually made some nice connections this way though.
I've also noticed that mine has come up in searches on different subjects.
If you don't want this out in cyberspace then you definitely need to make it private.
I'm with Kelly, I almost forgot I put a stat counter on mine. I don't know who Gewels is, but I agree with her too. haha
Melissa, I think we all are with you -- not wanting freaks reading about our family but liking that old friends can find us, etc. But you can go to settings to make it so people can't find you on google key word searches or by clicking "next blog." I didn't read your other comments -- maybe someone already said that. Sigh. A shame there has to be psychos out there at all.
