This Memorial Day was one of the best, fun and most relaxing that I've ever had. Ryan had the great idea of going to Julian, which is a little town about 1 hour away from us. Neither of us had ever been and thought it would be fun to go check it out. I found out online that we could ride on a train to go see a gold mine. I thought Addy would have lots of fun riding on the train and it would be interesting. It was both fun and interesting. The family that owns the land that the old gold mine was on ran the tour. They built train tracks and train cars on the property. They were also LDS and were such a cute couple. Addy loved the train, seeing the horses and petting their dog. Our first stop before the mine tour was this little diner in town that was so adorable. Julian is a town known for their apples and also known for their pies. So what choice did we have but to get a pie? It was an apple blackberry pie and was delicious! We had a wonderful day off and I was so glad we got to do something as a family that was out of the ordinary.
On our drive to Julian, Addy thought it was hilarious to have bear on her head!
The cute little diner that we ate at. I had the best vanilla flavored Diet Coke ever!
Isn't this so precious?
Trying to grab daddy's hat before the train ride
and got it!
Getting ready to take our big train ride
A picture of the mine. I thought this one turned out pretty, with all the sunlight
Addy was ready to head into the mine, with her hard hat
Taking a little walk on the tracks
Panning for gold
A view of our fellow travelers
and playing with honey dog. Addy loved this dog!
Is this not the most adorable LDS church ever? I loved it!

very fun. i want to pan for gold and eat pie.
Looks like a fun little trip back in time. While you were there, did you ever feel like singing "Oh my darlin' Clementine..."???
How fun! We've been wanting to go up there sometime in the fall. And, by the way, London has that same shirt as Addy. AND Ashton LOVES putting "bear" on his head too. He thinks it's hilarious. It must have something to do with the bear.
What a charming little town!
What a fun day! The pie sounds so delicious. You are visiting some nice spots!
