January Recap and Addy's Uniform

As always lately, I'm way behind in posting on this blog. I really want to get all caught up and post at least one good belly shot, before our baby boy (who still doesn't have a name) arrives. For now, here are some of the fun things we did in the month of January.

One Saturday morning Ryan thought it would be fun to take a little family hike at Mission Trails, which is just a few minutes from our house. It was a beautiful day for it. Addy enjoyed it very much for about the first 30 minutes, but by the time we headed back she was quite tired and cranky. Nonetheless, a fun time was had by all!

Addy prepped for the hike by playing with candles. You can catch a small glimpse of me looking super attractive (I kid, I kid) and pregnant in the background.

There were caterpillars galore all along the trail! I'm guessing we saw at least 100 of them!

We met up with our friends, the Rogers at the Mormon Battalion celebration. It's held in Old Town and it's a fun and free event. It was a beautiful San Diego day and I was glad we got to be outside. I was shocked when Addy agreed to participate in the parade, which consisted of marching around holding a pretend gun. I think she just wanted to be like her good buddy, Isabelle. I only wish I would have taken more pictures, it was a lot of fun!

When January rolled around I told Ryan that I wanted to start going on at least one date a month. It's something that we haven't been too great about doing and when we do we always say, "Why don't we do this more often?" Even though it was pretty chilly outside I thought it would be fun to have a nighttime beach picnic. We went to a deli near Mission Beach and then headed to the beach (which we had pretty much to ourselves) for our picnic. It was cold, but we still enjoyed spending time together joking around and talking. I forgot to take a picture of the whole picnic set up before we started eating, so this one was taken when we were pretty much done.

Addy got a princess dress for her birthday from my older sister and Barbie high heels from my younger sister. For about the past 2 months, when we're at home it's all she wears. The second we get home from wherever we've been the first thing she does is go to her room and put on her princess dress and high heels. The dress is pretty much in shambles from so much wearing! She also alternates between the pink Gilligan looking hat she's wearing in the pictures and a tiara.

Even though this is a super bright picture, I really liked how she was lifting up her skirt

Addy is adorable and her hair pulled back is the cutest thing ever! Man, she is one pretty little lady. What was the big change at Daddy's work?

P.S. My uniform is very much like Addy's. Although my tiara is worn regularly. ;)

I really like your hair color in that self portrait. And I'm also curious about the change at work.
Can you believe it's almost over? Can't wait to see that little guy and know his name!
